Diving into Avowed on PC was an adventure I eagerly anticipated, given Obsidian Entertainment’s reputation for crafting immersive RPGs. Set in the rich world of Eora, familiar from the Pillars of Eternity series, the game casts you as a godlike envoy investigating the enigmatic Dreamscourge plague in the treacherous Living Lands. The narrative, woven with political intrigue and ancient deities, immediately drew me in, offering a complex and engaging storyline that kept me invested throughout my journey.
Visually, Avowed is a feast for the eyes. The vibrant and colorful aesthetic breathes life into the diverse landscapes of the Living Lands, from lush forests to eerie caverns. Each environment is meticulously crafted, making exploration a constant delight. The character designs, especially the godlike traits, are distinctive and add depth to the immersive experience. However, I did notice that while the visuals are stunning, some character animations felt a bit stiff, slightly detracting from the overall visual polish.
