Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Launches Charity Pet for CureDuchenne

Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft has partnered with CureDuchenne, a nonprofit focused on finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, for an in-game charity promotion inspired by the story of Mats Steen, a WoW player who had the disease. Despite a life with limited physical mobility, Mats, known as Ibelin in the game, built meaningful connections and found joy and friendship in the WoW community.

Now, players can honor Mats’ legacy by purchasing a limited-edition fox pet, Reven, and an accompanying backpack. Priced at $20 through January 7, 2025, all proceeds will support CureDuchenne’s mission to fund research and improve the lives of those affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
