Sony Computer Entertainment America has promised over the past few weeks that we would see the next firmware very soon for the PlayStation 3 console. Today, the company introduced firmware 2.4. Many features include customized soundtracks, the in-game XMB, on-screen clock, a quick shutdown icon, and a shortcut to Google.

The trophies system unfortunately isn't supported in all games as of yet.

Sony does say  their biggest titles,Burnout Paradise and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune will soon get the trophie treatment. To obtain this update, turn on your PlayStation 3 and check for updates! We will keep you updated on further developments regarding the new XMB interface and trophie system

If you've been spending the past few months since the storm of information regarding Street Fighter IV hit the Internet wondering when you're going to get your hands on it and on what system you'll be playing it on, then think no more - various gaming websites have revealed that the game will be hitting the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC this winter.

The information initially hit the Internet this morning when French blog Jeuxvideo reported the story as a rumor, with Capcom later confirming it via press release.

The weekly update to the Playstation Store is here, and with it comes the usual plethora of demos, themes, trailers, and add-on content. This week features the demos of Overload Raising Hell and Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit as well as new tracks for Rock Band and trailers for the latest Naruto game and the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs. DC game. The Playstation Store has been updated yet again, with this week's big attraction being Ubisoft's four player co-op/campaign demo for Haze, the upcoming FPS by TimeSplitters developer Free Radical. Other notable downloads include new song packs for both Rock Band and Guitar Hero III as well as Rocketman: Axis of Evil, an arcade-style shooter from Capcom.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the year's best games (earning a total of 10 stars on our 5-star scale). Amazon has the game on sale for $40 versus the usual $60 price tag. This applies to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. I don't know why I should need to say anything else.

If you haven't picked the game up yet, perhaps this sale should be motivation. Hey, there's still time for shipping before Christma...Holiday!
