Persona 2: Eternal Punishment Now Available...AgainPosted 2:07pm Thu Nov 13, 2008 by Shiva Stella Tags: Persona 2 Eternal Punishment, reprint, Persona 4, Atlus, Amazon

In celebration of Persona 4's ever-nearing release date, Atlus has reprinted limited copies of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment in the original PlayStation format; rest assured that it will also play on your PlayStation 3 (or so I'm told). You can only pick up this gem at Amazon.

The cost is a bargain at $39.99, which should qualify you for free shipping if you're on a holiday budget (which should be all of you given the current state of our market economy). This may also be a good time to spend those $10 gift cards that Amazon has been giving out with preorder deals lately.

I would like to take this moment to laugh at everyone selling their copy on ebay at outrageous prices--this is $300 you will not be getting.

NIS: Now Wii 9001 Certified!Posted 4:19pm Thu Nov 06, 2008 by Ryan Fulton Tags: Nippon Ichi Software, NIS, Wii, developers developers

I'm beginning to think that I'm turning into a shameless NIS shill, but I can't help the fact that I keep coming across NIS related information this week. On November 4th NIS signed a contract that made them an official Wii developer. Their first title is tentatively titled and dated "Let's Hitchhike" and March 09, respectively. That's all there really is to know just yet. I suppose one could expect NIS to push their PS2 style sprites onto the Wii. Personally, I'm rather interested in see how this effects their PlayStation 3 Development.

Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?Posted 6:29pm Tue Nov 04, 2008 by Ryan Fulton Tags: Prinny, NIS, PSP, dood

Remember that Prinny game that I posted the screens of? Remember how it the date was unknown? If not, it's less than 10 posts down... And more importantly, you can forget the part about the date being unknown! NISA released a statement today announcing that the demonically hard semi-2D platformer will be hitting the states, hard, in February of 2009. Please, kindly, hit the jump for a full press release.

Dengeki Online has posted quite a few screenshots from the upcoming NIS game Prinny: Is It Okay If I'm the Protagonist. So far the game is confirmed for US release, but no word on a release date. Rumor has it that it's one of the harder games that you'll come across. If you like what you see, you can always try out the demo that's available on the Japanese PSN Store.

Nintendo Appoints Two New ExecutivesPosted 1:00pm Mon Jan 14, 2008 by Shiva Stella Tags: Nintendo, corporate news, people, Denise Kaigler, Bill van Zyll
In happier Nintendo news of the morning, Nintendo of America has announced that it has appointed two sales and marketing executives to its new office in Redwood City, California.

Denise Kaigler (soon to be ex-Reebok) signs on as VP of marketing and corporate affairs while Bill van Zyll (ex-Whirlpool) is the new director and general manager of Latin America (sounds like a dictator).

If you're interested in full details from Nintendo, hit the jump. Maybe what Kaigler did for shoes and van Zyll for home appliances they can do for the Wii?

Puchi Puchi Virus Delayed to Spring 2008Posted 6:30pm Sat Dec 15, 2007 by Shiva Stella Tags: NIS America, Puchi Puchi Virus, nintendo ds

Feeling blue?

NIS America sent over confirmation today that its Puchi Puchi Virus, the company's first Nintendo DS game, has been delayed until sometime in spring 2008 (as opposed to its initial release date of February).

Puchi Puchi Virus is a puzzle game that tasks players with killing virii (I refuse to say viruses!) by linking them up in a triangle formation; to win you simply destroy all the nasty little vermin, but if they fill up the screen then presumably you get sick and die.

You can check out some visuals at the jump.

In some interesting news of the evening, NIS America has confirmed that its first Nintendo DS title, Puchi Puchi Virus, will be a puzzle game targeted to the more casual gamer and launch sometime in February 2008.

It's a break from the company's usual RPG fare, so if you're a fan of NISA it's definitely something to watch. We'll keep you updated as the company releases more details.
