The game was divisive among critics, with those that either loved the game's dialog and punishing old-school feel or those that felt that it was too hard and fundamentally not fun to play.

However, the game did well enough to earn a sequel, as Atlus has announced Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns for the DS. The game will include more dungeons, items, etc. and will feature a new TAG system, which will allow players to bring two characters into a dungeon to execute special "TAG" attacks. The game is dated for July 22.

Hit the jump to check out screens from the game.
