Level 5, the Japanese RPG developer who created Dark Cloud, as well as
the more recent Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King on the
PlayStation 2, gave a first glimpse of its upcoming role-playing game
on the PlayStation 3, White Knight, with a set of screenshots seen below.
As opposed to both of its prior releases, which carried colorful, cel-shaded environments and character designs, White Knight seems to wield a more realistic visual aesthetic. Little else is known about the title at this point, aside from a battle system that allows you to give the main character seven different commands, and that the story involves an artifact that allows your character to transform into the "White Knight."

EA and Lionhead have today announced that Black & White 2: Battle of the Gods, the expansion pack for Black & White 2, will be released for the PC in April.

The expansion has you, as a god, fighting for control of your world against an evil deity summoned from the blood of human sacrifices in a darker and more sinister world than those in previous games. It’s up to you whether you counteract his evil with good deeds or undermine him with extreme evil in your attempts to regain control.

Fans of Black & White 2 will find a new creature, four new miracles, two new lands, new buildings, and a new AI system to play around with, as well as two new enemy armies and, of course, the new enemy creature to face off against.

Make sure to check out the first screenshots of the game below.

Confirming rumors we reported during the Game Developers Conference, today Microsoft affirmed its aquisition of Lionhead Studios, which will join other former independents Bungie and Rare at Microsoft Game Studios. Originally a breakoff of Bullfrog, the small UK-based developer is captained by industry figurehead Peter Molyneux, and released Black & White as its first title back in 2001.
“We could not be more excited about being part of MGS. They have long supported our creative vision, and this teamwork resulted in the hugely successful ‘Fable’ franchise,” said Molyneux, managing director of Lionhead Studios. “This acquisition gives Lionhead the stability and opportunity to focus on creating world-class next-generation titles. We are joining some of the most incredible game creators in the industry, the combined talent of which will truly take next-generation gaming to a new level.”With increased financial support (and possibly creative control) from Microsoft, Lionhead should be positioned to expand its project portfolio, which typically only includes one or two titles at a time. Likewise, we can expect to see increased (or exclusive) support for the Xbox 360 console from Lionhead.
